Athletics 

🌞Students who are planning to participate in a Spring Sport (Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field, Jr. High Girls Volleyball) need to register on FamilyID .  Please make sure that youhave an up-to-date sports physical (conducted after 6/1/24.)

⚾The Springdale Dynamos Varsity Baseball Team invites current and prospective players to join them at From Italy TONIGHT, 2/27, from 6-7:30 PM, to meet the team, coaches, and baseball families.  Anyone interested in playing Varsity baseball (current grades 9-12) this season should plan to attend.  Please RSVP by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. ➡️Attention SHS students who are 15 years of age or older, the application is now open for the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Academy.   Email Ms. Mellon if you want the program link and/or additional information.

🖥️The Air Force Association Cyber Camp will be held 6/23-27,  (9am to 1pm) at the University of Pittsburgh.  Email Ms. Mellon to get the link to be on the email list.  Registration goes live on Monday, March 24.

🩷 Girls in Construction Camp will be held 6/23-27 at the IBEW Local 5 Apprenticeship Training Center on Pittsburgh’s South Side.  More information is available through this QR Code.

🌎Attention students in grades 9-12 who like outdoor adventure and are interested in climate change education, there is a free activity sponsored by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit that gives you experience with hands-on field research.  The opportunities are either Wednesday afternoons this spring or a week-long program in June.  Some of the things that you will study include:  researching water quality while kayaking; measuring soil & forest health while hiking; monitoring air quality at multiple locations; participating in citizen science projects; and examining how land use affects ecosystems.  Email Mrs. Mellon for an application link.

Student Activities         Activity Bus time is 3:20 on M,T,W

Tuesdays are for TFIM! There will be a standing TFIM meeting in A16 every Tuesday after school. 

The Writing Club meets every Wednesday in A16  after school.

❄️SnowBall Semi-Formal tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in B & C lunches. The  dance is for Grades 9-12 and is this Friday 2/28 from 7-9:30pm in the Gym.  Dress is formal or casual, as long as it is school-appropriate. DJ Skye will be in the house bringing all your favorite songs.  Concessions will also be available for sale.   Advance Tickets only - tickets will not be sold at the door!
