Seniors  To order your graduation regalia:  Cap, Gown & Tassel  

Attention students who enjoy creative writing.  SHS is able to take 9 students to Franklin Regional HS on Feb. 3rd to learn Digital Storytelling and Twine Software from IUP professors and students.  Email Ms. Mellon if you are interested.

From Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27, 2025 (9am to 1pm) is the Air Force Association Cyber Camp at the University of Pittsburgh.  This camp is free and is open to students entering 9th grade through students who are currently seniors.  Email Ms. Mellon to get the link to be on the email list.  This camp fills in 24 to 48 hours after the registration link goes live which is usually in February or March.

Attention high school students who love the environment & science!  The Smithsonian Science Education Center is assembling a group of students ages 14-19 to participate in a collaborative action research program on the topic of Climate Action!  This is a world-wide virtual program that starts in February with a weekly commitment to an online meeting each Tuesday.  The application must be completed by Sunday, 1/26.  See Ms. Mellon for the application link if you are interested.

Attention all students interested in competing in the Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Competition.  Please see Ms. Mellon or Ms. Minda before this FRIDAY 1/24. 

Attention Seniors who feel certain that they will have a college acceptance by April 15.  The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation scholarship of $6,000 across four years has opened their application.  Students who are passionate about the Pittsburgh region who have history in the history, architecture and/or landscapes of Allegheny County are encouraged to apply.  Email Ms. Mellon for the link.

Every Monday after school, any student is welcome to come to the RCCR for tutoring or extra help. Just bring your work and we'll help you from there!

Student Activities         Activity Bus time is 3:20 on M,T,W

The prom committee is sponsoring SHS's first Snowball Semi-Formal dance for grades 9-12 on Friday, Feb. 28th from 7-9:30pm in the A-Wing gym!!  Dress can be formal or casual, just please just make your outfit school appropriate. DJ Skye will be in the house bringing all your favorite songs.  Concessions will also be available for sale.  Tickets will be $10/per person and can be purchased in B and C lunches from 2/18-2/28/25.  You may bring a guest, please get your guest forms in the office and turned in by 2/21/25. Tickets will not be able to be purchased at the door so be sure to purchase your ticket during school!
