PROJECT 1: Colfax Upper Elementary School Demolition

The Colfax School demolition is in its final stages. The building has been completely torn down, with the leveling of the grounds in process. Machinery remains on site moving dirt and fill.
Anticipated completion date: July 15
- Demolition Sequence:
- Administration/library addition wing demolition to be completed initially. This will include the connecting corridor up to the original 1925 structure . COMPLETE
- Demolition shall then begin on the cafeteria wing addition, including all 1971 additions up to the original 1925 structure. COMPLETE
- Original structure demolition shall commence last. COMPLETE
- Crushing of the masonry from previous demolition may begin while demolition is in process on the 1925 structure.
- Basement back filling will commence once all slabs/footers are removed.
PROJECT 2: Springdale Jr-Sr High School Athletic Fields

Students, parents, and community members should be aware that work will start on the SHS track complex the week of May 26. The work will include resurfacing the soccer field with turf and converting the field into a shared soccer/football complex. The contractor will be bringing equipment and materials to the site that will make the track inaccessible throughout the summer months. Updates on the project will be provided on the website over the summer. An area on the site will be dedicated to this project. The District understands that it may be an inconvenience to the community, however, we appreciate your patience as we go through the construction process.
PROJECT 3: Paving of SHS Student Parking Lot

Paving on the Springdale Jr-Sr High School parking lot on Marion Avenue began on Monday, June 2. The sub-surface will be replaced, the lot re-paved with asphalt, and new lines painted on the blacktop. The project is anticipated to take 4-5 days to complete.
PROJECT 4: Springdale Jr-Sr High School Masonry Work

Masonry work will be completed on three separate areas of Springdale Jr-Sr HIgh School, D-wing entrance, cafeteria, and multi-purpose room. The mortor in these areas had started to fail and brought about the danger of bricks falling off the buildings. The project has been put out to bid, with the Board voting on June 10 for a contractor. Work is scheduled to begin in mid-July and take an estimated five to six months, depending on weather, materials, and other factors.
PROJECT 5: Springdale Jr-Sr High School Marshall Auditorium Work

This projects includes new bathrooms constructed in the Marshall Auditorium Lobby, with new glass and doors for the entry. The upgrades have been instituted for safety reasons. The project has been detailed over the past year at monthly school board meetings. It is due to go out to bid in July, with the project to begin in late summer.
